Question asked

Will the DC 1400 accept a wide angle lens made by sealife? also, is the camera ready-to-go out of the box, or is it required that you buy a lens for the housing? Thanks!

Hi There, the new camera has a mode called super macro that will allow you to take a picture up to an inch away, so this set is actually everything you need for day and night diving alike. If you try to use a sealife macro lens with the DC1400 you will run the risk of causing Vinetting.

If you try to use a sealife macro lens with the DC1400 you will run the risk of causing Vinetting. They are talking about creating a macro lens for the DC1400 but that will be something in the future.

Question asked
on 11/28/2011
1. Can the DC 1400 Duo run on an external battery source or if no how many minutes of video can be taken in 1 dive using the light? 2. Is it easy to switch between video and still whilst diving and does the light/flash change automatically? 3. We are from Ireland and are spending Christmas / new-year in Florida so if I please an order can you deliver to a different address from that on my credit card. My sister lives in Orlando so would want to have it delivered to her? 4. Is the 1400 too good for a young diver, he is 14 and dives about 10 to 15 dives per year at present. I would welcome any other suggestion you may have.
Answer by Bill
on 11/28/2011
1. NO. Video light has 90 min. burn time with lithium batteries. 2 Yes the switch is easy. No it does not change automatically. 3.That shoud not be a problem just let us know in the check out notes after your order is placed. 4. The 1400 Duo is a system you can grow into. Have him shoot Video on one dive and Still shots the next. Don't overwhelm him with having to make changes during the dive. Go to the Super Macro Mode and have him start with little critters. The Video Light also works great as a night diving light and spotting lamp for your macro shots.

What's the difference between this camera outfit and the one I see on scuba.com? The other is listed as the 'Sea Dragon Pro Duo' (?) Besides some asthetic differences in the strobes, the tray looks different. Any difference in the performance? Thanks, Jim S
Answer by Bill
on 3/11/2014
Hi Jim, We still have some of the older style pro duo sets and you correct eh sea dragon is the smaller sleeker style of strobe and video light. You can't beat the price for the same camera with the older strobe and flash. Thanks, Bill
