The worked, but just a tad expensive
I bought these lenses to be installed in a ScubaPro mask that I purchased separately from another online retailer in anticipation for a dive trip that I just came back from in the Caribbean.

I had the dive shop at my dive destination install the lenses and it worked out great! On my last 8 dives I have been using these lenses with my new mask and I am now able to see things underwater with MUCH more clarity. That said, altogether my mask + these new lenses came out to just about $300 (before shipping costs) - which, IMO, is pretty expensive - hence not 5/5 stars. (It looked like to me that there were other companies that sell dive masks selling similar products for about half the price.)

One thing I want to do is make a shout out to the OnlineScuba.com customer support staff members Layna and Sierra as they were absolutely INSTRUMENTAL in getting this order shipped to me in time for my trip. The customer service on their part was a 10/10! Thank you both SO much!!!

Instructor Bill: Thanks for your review. As for half the price would want to make sure we are comparing apples to apples.

Super service at OnlineScuba
I ordered new prescription lenses to be sent by mail for my old IST Saturn snorkel mask. The people at OnlineScuba were extremely helpful! When I had trouble getting the old lenses out, someone at OnlineScuba used his smart phone to show me visually what to do, and walk me through the process. Super service!

I am looking for corrective lens and a new scuba mask. How do I know if bifocal lens are worth the extra cost? Prescription: R: -4.00 -0.25 035 +2.25 (add) L: -3.00 -0.50 098 +2.25 (add) PO= 66
Answer by scuba
on 7/1/2010
If you need the bifocals for gauge reading then it would be worth the cost. Your correction is fairly high so you could use it, but if you are simply looking for a mask for snorkeling or scuba diving then you should be ok with out the bifocal corrections. Also water magnifies by 25% so that may be an option as well for you. Please advise and I hope I have helped. Happy Diving,

Can you do bifocals? How much?
Answer by caitlyn
on 2/17/2011
The only manufacturer that has an off the shelf bifocal is Seadive (also known as sea venture) http://www.onlinescuba.com/Seaventure-Bifocal-Lenses-2-Window-Dive-Mask-P2352.aspx Otherwise that is a custom grind lens that can be found here http://www.onlinescuba.com/Product.aspx?ProductId=2720&CategoryId=82

Re: Prescriptive lens Do we use the "Sphere" or "Cylinder" readings? Also if a -3.75 reading, do we choose -3.5 or -4.0?
Answer by Bill

Hello, not being an optometrist I would suggest that you fax us your prescription and we will have them looked over and the appropriate version chosen for you. Keep in mind that astigmatism does affect the vision as well water column magnification.

I was going to buy these lenses for my tusa powerview 2 mask ...are they fairly easy to install on my own or will i need to take it to a dive shop? thanks.
Answer by Bill
on 8/30/2011
Hi There, Lenses can be installed by you as long as you are careful about popping out the lens holders. What I mean is that it does entail some skill but as long a you carefully do it folks have had no problems. I will say that corrections -7 or thicker tend to be a bit of a challenge. If needed you can send the mask to us and we can do it for no extra charge. Thanks, Bill

I have a Sherwood Vida mask new. Do you make them for the tear drop
Answer by wendy
on 2/12/2016
Hi, Thanks for your question. Unless the mask description says there are corrective lenses for that mask, they are not available. However if you want RX lenses made for your mask, then we have an optometrist that makes them and installs them in your mask. Your provide us with your prescription and we get you a quote for the lenses. It can be anywhere from $175-375 depending on your RX and any astigmatism, etc. Then because you did not buy the mask from us we charge a small handling fee to make the transaction happen. Turnaround time is usually 1-2 weeks once you have sent us your mask. I hope this is helpful. Wendy, Customer Service, 1-866-728-2293

Question asked
on 6/5/2016
I am not able to dive anymore due to a medical condition, but am getting back into snorkeling. I own a Seadive SeaVenture mask and am interested in purchasing drop-in corrective lenses for it. My questions are: are the lenses difficult to install, and if I order them do they come with some type of instructions / tools? Thanks! Randy Duncan Memphis, TN
Answer by wendy
on 6/8/2016
Hi Randy, Yes these lenses are available for this mask with negative corrections. While our Instructor thinks it's easy to change out the lenses, you will need to be comfortable with popping the lense holders out and not cracking them, so there is some skill involved with this task. We would recommend sending the mask to us when you place your order and we'll install them and send your mask back to you. We hope you find this helpful. Thanks, Wendy, Customer Service, 1-866-728-2293

Can I get a replacement part for the Saturn IST Mask The art that secures the lens in place has broken. Thanks Michael OLdstone

Hi, Thanks for your question. There is no replacement part for your mask. I asked our Optometrist if the lenses could be moved to a new mask and he said that is not possible and that you would have to start over. Depending on when purchased your mask, it may still be under manufacturer warranty. If you have any other questions, please let us know. Thanks Divemaster Chris

I have an old Scubapro mask (24-181-000), probably from the 1980s. It has replaceable prescription lenses that I finally need to replace. I'd need OD -3.75 and OS -4.5. If new lenses for the mask aren't possible, I also have the original plain glass lenses that could be swapped in. Thanks for your help figuring this out! Ben
