Ikelite Underwater Housing for Nikon Coolpix S9100 (Camera Not Included)
The Ikelite 6184.91 Underwater Housing for Nikon Coolpix S9100 is an injection-molded, clear polycarbonate waterproof case, known for its strength and corrosion-free properties. It permits you to use your Nikon Coolpix S9100 camera underwater. All camera controls except the flash pop-up control are fully functional through the housing and depth rated to 200' (60 m). Two 12-24 threaded mounts on the bottom of the housing allow you to securely attach optional trays and lighting accessories. The housing permits the use of the camera's built-in flash, and the included flash diffuser improves lighting quality when the built-in flash is used. However, it is recommended that you use the AutoFlash AF35 for easy automatic exposure, or add an optional DS Substrobe with EV Manual Controller for more power and wider angle of coverage.
External color correction filters help to restore some of the reds, oranges and more natural tones that are otherwise lost underwater. Available as #6441.46 for tropical blue water and #6441.86 for green water settings, these color correction filters (sold separately) are effective in shallow, sunny conditions. They are best used in combination with a manual white balance.
External wide angle conversion lenses cannot be used to any advantage. For wide-angle work, the housing does accept the Ikelite WD-4 Wide-Angle Conversion Dome Port. The conversion dome corrects for the refractive magnification of the flat port underwater to restore the camera's original angle of coverage. The resulting image is free of vignetting and super sharp corner-to-corner. The conversion dome may be removed and replaced underwater and requires no modification to the housing's standard port. With optional port adapter #9306.82, you may attach 67mm threaded macro lenses from Inon and Epoque. This adapter also may be removed and replaced underwater and requires no modification to the housing's lens port. Macro lenses are not available for purchase through Ikelite.
